Fall Semester (Total Credits 17)
Bible
Orientation (3 Credits)
Includes Overview of Historical Books
What is the Bible? The purpose of this
course is to provide a clear definition of the Word of God and provide the
student with the foundational Biblical knowledge needed to study other Bible
courses. The overview of the historical books will give the student a basic
understanding of the history of Israel from their entrance into the land of
Canaan and their return from the Babylonian captivity.
Bible Doctrine 1 (3 Credits)
This course covers the Doctrines of God, Jesus Christ the Son
of God, the Holy Spirit, the Means of Grace (Word and Sacraments), man and
salvation, and the Church.
Genesis (3 Credits)
Genesis means "beginning of
origin" and teaches the beginnings of creation, mankind, marriage, the fall
into sin, and the history of the nations. Genesis is the foundation for studying
the Bible as a whole. The roots of all subsequent revelation are planted deep in
the book of Genesis and to fully understand that revelation one must begin here.
A thorough comprehensive study of this book will provide the student with an
adequate knowledge for understanding all the books of the Bible.
John (3 Credits)
This book stresses the works of Jesus the God-man and
explores the richness of salvation's divine mysteries. John emphasizes the
deity of Jesus Christ and draws the reader into a closer intimate relationship
with Him.
Courtship &
Marriage (1
Credit)
This practical course combined with the teaching of Ruth will
help prepare the student for courtship and marriage, parent/child and sibling
relationships and family communications.
Pastoral Epistles &
Cults (2 Credits)
These courses feature the studies of 1 & 2 Timothy,
Titus, Philemon and the marks of the cults. The role of the pastor as a
shepherd, the call to serve and the ministry and role of the pastor in
congregational life will be explored. The marks and false teachings of the
cults will be exposed under the light of God's Word.
I & II
Corinthians (2 Credits)
The student will get a good insight into the failures of the
Corinthian church because of its neglect to recognize Jesus Christ as Lord and
Master. Practical application will be made to the churches of today.
Spring Semester (Total
Credits 16)
Romans/Galatians (3 Credits)
These two books are the foremost doctrinal books of the
Bible. The richness of Romans and Galatians cannot be underestimated as Paul
deals with justification, law and gospel and their practical applications.
Acts/Church History (3 Credits)
The books of Acts relates to the events surrounding the birth
and early growth of the Christian Church. Practical application is made to the
church of today.
Psalms/Music (2 Credits)
The book of Psalms draws us into the presence of God to
praise, glorify and honor His most Holy Name. Also, in many of the Psalms
written by David, he bears his aching should to God with the agony of his sin,
seeking forgiveness and being forgiven. In the light of the teaching of Psalms,
traditional hymns and music will be compared with contemporary music and praise
songs. The Biblical meaning of "worship" will be emphasized.
Christian Education (1 Credit)
Selected scriptures and hands-on training will be offered in
this course. There will be opportunities to assist with Vacation Bible School,
Sunday School and Christian School responsibilities.
Bible doctrine II (3 Credits)
This course will be built on the foundation of Bible Doctrine
1. Selected scriptures dealing with important doctrines of the Bible such as the
Holiness of God, the Providence of God, the Grace of God, the Judgment of God,
the State of Man’s Corruption and other important doctrines which will give
the student a good foundation for a life-time study of the holy and inspired
Word of God.
Missions (1 Credit)
Selected scriptures and practical training in basic
missionary outreach will be offered in this course. The students will experience
sharing their faith and testimonies with the lost. It will also include door to
door canvassing and nursing home ministry.
Revelations (3 Credits)
This will be a study of the end times as revealed in the book
of Revelation. This book reveals the downfall and utter defeat of Satan and evil
and the victory of Christ and His Church in His righteous, glorious reign over
the nations. |
