E.K.E.

    Pastor Misi Gyorfi, pastors our sister church in Nyirtelek. The church there is currently finishing their new church building. Pastor Misi and his wife Anna have four children Viki & Peter (married June 7^th, 2003), Vajk, Ezster, and Judit.

    Pastor Misi also pastors two other churches. One in Nyirzsolos and one in Kisvarda. The church in Kisvarda is currently being served by Miklos Nagy.

    Miklos and his wife Edit have five children Nandi, Regi, Bogi, Anna, and Baby Zsobar. Miklos works with the youth in Kisvarda as well as the older people. Miklos’ heart is in the youth ministry of Hungary as this is the age group most open to Christ.

    Edit is also the head of the Women of Hope. The sister group to our Women of Faith. They Hungarian ladies saw our ladies doing their own Bible studies and fellowship times and started one of their own. They now have Group Bibles studies, Weekend retreats, and other activities. They sent our church a "communion towel" that is used to cover the communion wafers during our communion service.

    Misi and Miklos are just two of the many pastors who we are in contact with. These two pastors are associated with E.K.E. A group of Conservative Lutheran Pastors who have separated them selves from the very Liberal state church of Hungary. They hold many camps through out the year for families, youth and even week long camps for elementary children. E.K.E also has a three year long Bible School and Seminary.

    The Bible school Director is Janos Herkely lives in Budapest with his Wife Melinda and their four children Lydia, Janos Jr., Anna, and Ezster. Janos and Melinda were here at our church fall of last year. Janos works a lot with the Bible school youth doing evangelism outreaches. They have a group of young people who go to the different E.K.E. churches and preach, perform skits, and sing songs. Melinda also works a lot with the children camps in the summer.
