"And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right-hand side of the boat and you will find a catch." So they cast, and then they were not able to haul it in because of the great number of fish.."
John 21:6

"Give Us This Day Our Daily Limit"
by Captain Paul

A person who enjoys fishing gave me a plaque with the above line on it.  The implication of course is that every fisherman wants to catch his limit.
My personal experience is that I don't know what it's like to "limit out' as I have never experienced it!
My most recent attempt was pitiful.  I thought receiving a paid vacation to a Canadian fishing resort was sure to end my search for "limiting out".  Surrounded by experienced fishermen I wouldn't have any problem. Guess again.
The first day they all patiently taught me what bait, what pole, what sinker, and every other bit of advice so that I would catch some fish.  It worked for them but not for me. Feeling sorry for me the following day when the fish started biting and I was the only one not catching anything, they quickly traded spots with me so I would have the "hot spot".  Still no fish for the preacher.  The third and last day was a pitiful sight to behold.  By this time my friends were setting everything up and letting me use their fishing poles. Still I was able to avoid every fish in Canada.  As a last resort, with looks of extreme pity in their eyes, they would hook a fish and then quickly hand me the pole so I could reel it in.  You know, sort of the way a father does with a 3 year old!  Ok, it wasn't quite that bad, I did catch some and even lost a "whopper."
But one thing became certain in my mind, fishing my be fun but I prefer being a fisher of men.  As much joy that there is in reeling in a big one it does not begin to compare with leading a hungry soul to Christ and explaining the way of salvation to someone who says "I'm ready, I want to accept Jesus as my Savior."  When you have had the opportunity to pray with someone whom the Holy Spirit has brought to a point of decision and you get to "reel" them into the kingdom, then you will know a joy that a million Northens or Walleyes could never bring.  The only daily limit is determined by how many hours are in the day.
Fish stories?  I don't have many but thank the Lord I can still be a fisher of men and all of us can and should pray,

" Give us this day our daily limit,
Lord lay some soul upon my heart,
And love that soul through me;
And may I humbly do my part
To win that soul for Thee.
Leon Tucker

Fishers of men cast their nets in faith and draw them in with love.

And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men"
Matthew 4:19

Fishers of Men
I will make you fishers of men, Fishers of men, fishers of men,
I will make you fishers of men, If you follow Me.
If you follow Me, if you follow Me,
I will make you fishers of men, If you follow Me

Be ye fishers of men. You catch them - He'll clean them.
