What sunshine is to flowers,
smiles are to humanity.
They are but trifles, to be sure but, scattered along life's pathway,
the good they do is inconceivable.
"A happy heart makes the face cheerful."
Proverbs 15:13 |

Peace starts with a smile.

A good laugh is
sunshine in a house.
"The light of the eyes
of him whose heart is
joyful rejoices the
heart of others."
Proverbs 15:30

A lot of church members who are singing "Standing on the
Promises"
are just sitting on the premises.
God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
God grades on the cross, not the curve.
God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.
He who angers you, controls you!

Some people say,
"I go to church, so I am a Christian."
But that's like saying if you go to McDonald's
you are a Quarter Pounder |

Dear God,
So far today, I've done all right.
I haven't gossiped.
I haven't lost my temper.
I haven't been greedy, grumpy,
nasty, selfish, or overindulgent.
I'm very thankful for that.
But in a few minutes, God,
I'm going to get out of bed;
and from then on, I'm
probably going to need
a lot more help!
Amen.

"William," said the Sunday school teacher,
"can you tell me what we must do before we can expect forgiveness
of sin?"
"Yes, ma'am," replied the boy.
"We've got to sin."

The Lord's Baseball Game
Author unknown
 |
Bob was caught up in the spirit
where he and the Lord stood by to observe a baseball game. The Lord's team
was playing Satan's team. The Lord's team was at bat, the score was tied
zero to zero, and it was the bottom of the 9th inning with two
outs.
They continued to watch as a
batter stepped up to the plate whose name was Love. Love swung at the
first pitch and hit a single, because Love never fails.
The next batter was named Faith, who also got a single,
because Faith works with Love.
The next batter up was named Godly Wisdom. Satan wound
up and threw the first pitch;
Godly Wisdom looked it over and let it pass, because Godly Wisdom does not
swing at Satan's pitches. Ball one. Three more pitches and
Godly Wisdom walked, because Godly Wisdom never swings at Satan's throws.
The bases were loaded. The Lord then turned to Bob and told
him, He was now going to bring in His
star player. Up to the plate stepped Grace. Bob said, he sure didn't look
like much! Satan's whole team relaxed when they saw Grace. Thinking
they had won the game, Satan wound up and fired his first pitch. To the
shock of everyone, Grace hit the ball harder than anyone had ever seen.
But, Satan was not worried; his center fielder, the Prince of the air, let
very
few get by. He went up for the ball, but it went right through his glove,
and hit him on the head and sent him crashing on the ground; then
continued over the fence for a home run!!!
The Lord's team won!!
The Lord then asked Bob if he knew why Love, Faith, and
Godly Wisdom could get on base, but could not win the game? Bob
answered that he did not know why. The Lord explained, "If your
love, faith and wisdom had won the game you would think you had done it by
yourself. Love, faith and wisdom will get you on base, but only My
grace can get you home. My grace is the one thing Satan can not stop!

"There
will be a meeting of the Board immediately after the service," announced
the pastor. After the close of the service, the group gathered at the back of
the auditorium for the announced meeting. But there was a stranger in their
midst. He was a visitor who had never attended their church before. "My
friend," asked the pastor, did you understand that this is a meeting of the
Board?" "Yes," said the visitor, "and after that sermon, I'm
about as bored as you can get!"
